Watermelon Shoes
I love colourful weekends full of sparkle, diy and creating. The last one was no different!
Watermelon themed items are still everywhere you look. I saw this fun diy shoe tutorial over on Call It Spring, and I decided to do my own version of watermelon shoes!
You will need:
A red pair of shoes with a white rim.
Green paint.
Black paint.
Paintbrushes.
Tear drop gems.
Sticky tape.
Super glue.
Let the fun begin!
I found these shoes at Target for $15, so I bought them with the sole purpose (no pun intended) of transforming them into watermelon shoes!
Firstly, get out your green paint. I mixed up a blue and yellow to get my preferred green colour. Paint over the white rim of your shoe. I went over them about three times. The first time was pretty rough with a rough brush, and then the next two times were a lot more smooth using a fine haired paintbrush.
Next, grab your black paint, and paint over your teardrop gems. I did two coats.
When the paint has dried, get little pieces of sticky tape and place out your gems how you want them. Play with it a little and keep rearranging until your happy with how it looks. Make sure both shoes are relatively the same.
One at a time, carefully remove the sticky tape from the back of each gem, and put a little super glue on it and then quickly stick it on to your shoe.
When you've replaced all your sticky taped gems with super glued gems, you're finished!!
Now take them out for a spin!!
