Happy Wednesday! I've been LOVING my new wardrobe since I've been picking out pieces for #Restyle2014!! It's really put some more colour into my days, and today I'm feeling super feminine!! I picked up these dreamy shorts from Anglicare WA for just $4 the other week, and I so love them! I had been searching for something like them for ages, and although they could have done with an iron.. I was just too eager to wear them! Even though I didn't use them as one of my 'prompts' I can't promise that they won't make an appearance at some point!

Shorts : Anglicare WA ($4)
Flower Crown : Borrowed from Lovethread
Shoes : Collaboration between Emma Davis & Ruth Tarvydas

Can you believe that Restyle 2014 starts in just one week today!? That is so crazy to me. It seems like forever ago since the other bloggers and myself found out that we were chosen to be the official Restyle bloggers for this year! Even before it's officially begun, it's been a huge adventure! I've met some of the most wonderful people, and have loved the opportunities that have been opening up!

One of my favourite parts about Restyle is that it's not limited to just us bloggers!! Everyone can get involved, follow along and upload their photos too! I so encourage you to take part in it this year and have fun with us!

Did you see the prompt list above? It was so exciting to read through the list for the first time. My mind went crazy thinking of all the ideas and dreaming up the clothes I would find and be able to style! As you probably know though, sometimes when you have something too specific in mind, you may never find it when you visit Op Shops! Something that I've had to learn is to really keep my mind open when I go Op Shopping. If I try to plan it out too much, or go for something specific, the chances are that I will leave feeling a little disappointed. So for these challenges, I walked into stores and just had a few prompts in mind, but nothing defined like 'green pants' or 'spotty dress'. This has allowed me to find some incredible pieces that I would have simply overlooked if I had been thinking too specific!

I've found it pretty funny actually. Some of the prompts that I thought would be the easiest, have turned out to be the hardest! And some of the ones that I thought I would struggle with most, have been the easiest and really fun! Some favourites, and not-so-favourites..

// Textured //

This one has been one of my absolute favourites so far. The best part is that it was one of the first pieces I found, and it so easily just fell into the prompt!

// Double Denim //

I was not looking forward to this one at all! I have never been a huge denim lover that's for sure, so thinking about matching denims stressed me out more than a little! But surprisingly, after picking up a few different denim items, I mixed and matched when I got home, and ended up having the best fun in the shoot! I'm excited to keep those pieces in my wardrobe.

// Tom Boy //

This was another one that scared me a little. I wanted to pull off tomboy, but still stay feminine! I mixed and matched a little, and actually came up with an outfit very easily, and loved the shoot! It's amazing what some lippy can do to your confidence, and how it can make you feel like a woman no matter what!

// Gown //
This one was one of the prompts that I had been day dreaming about and expecting to find something incredible for. But it was more tricky than I expected. I came across plenty of full length satin dresses, reasonably outdated. Or lots of dresses that would be suitable for bridesmaids. I was just starting to feel a little discouraged, when I found one of my absolute favourite pieces that works perfectly!! It's a little old school, but with a slight alteration to make it fit a little tighter, I really feel like it could be runway ready! Maybe not your typical 'gown' but in my opinion, definitely fits into the prompt, and a welcome addition to my wardrobe!

One of the best things about these challenges is that it forces you to add some really unique pieces to your wardrobe. It's really pushing my boundaries and making me step out of my comfort zone! I am loving every moment of that.

Which prompts have been your favourite? And which ones are you struggling with a little? Get Op Shopping this weekend, and remember to keep an open mind!

Have a beautiful day,

After asking you all what you wanted me to make from the gorgeous Houndstooth fabric I found, votes rolled in via Instagram, Twitter and Facebook! I tallied up the votes, and a crop top was the winner. So after drafting a pattern, I made this cutie! It's so much fun to wear, and goes with highwaisted skirts and jeans super well! I kind of adore it.
Get the look here:

Crop Top : My own design
Skirt : Jay Jays
Shoes : Borrowed
Ring : Colette ($2.50)
Purse : Gift
Nail Polish : Ice Design (2 for $6.00)

I wanted to take a moment to properly introduce you to Anglicare WA. I am so so happy that I got paired with them for this photo-a-day-challenge!

To be honest, I didn't really know much about the organisation before this whole challenge began. However, after my first meeting with Lorraine and Anna from Anglicare WA, I was completely blown away! Anglicare WA is a community service organisation full of people that devote their lives to helping people, families, and their communities to enhance their abilities to cope with the challenges of life and relationships. Listening to them talk about what they believe in and what they are hoping for the future, just filled my heart with joy. What incredible people, with an incredible mission.

Money raised at Anglicare WA Op Shops supports the community. Their philosophy is to support people through each stage of life's journey. Anglicare WA's 60+ services, which are all equally important, are available to all members of the community and help people with whichever situation they're facing. They can be broken into six broad categories:

// Relationships //
// Finances //
// Housing //
// Youth //
// Community //
// Training //

To read more about their incredible services, which I think are all essential, please visit their website. Anglicare WA is really putting their hearts into making peoples lives better, and that is something I am so proud to be a part of, even if just in a small way. Knowing that my money is going to these great causes, it's been such a joy shopping at each Anglicare WA Op Shop! I've loved all six stores in their own way. They all have a different feel to them, and there are so many hidden treasures to be found! My sister has seen some of the clothes I've bought home, and she was absolutely shocked at the gems I found!!
I hope I've opened your eyes a little to the behind the scenes of Anglicare WA. They really do treasure your support, as it further allows them to support the Western Australian community through service delivery. So get down to one of their stores, find some gorgeous pieces, and join in with #Restyle2014!! Not only an incredible cause, but there is some incredible fun to be had!!

I am so so so excited to announce that I've been selected along with a handful of other gorgeous Perth bloggers to officially take part in Restyle 2014. Hosted by Telstra Perth Fashion Festival, this is such an exciting opportunity!!

Restyle is a 31 'photo-a-day' challenge for the month of August. The girls and I have each been allocated a different Charity, each one with a great cause. I've been given Anglicare, which I am completely over the moon about. They are so incredible in every way and devote their lives to raising money to help people. I will go into more detail about this in a separate post shortly. What is super exciting is that for each day of August, we have been given a prompt to dress for. And we must find that prompt in one of our Charity's Op Shops!

How much fun does that sound?! Way too fun, that's how much!! It's all about being creative, finding gorgeous treasures from Op Shops, making them your own and giving them a second life! A.K.A Restyle.

It's going to be a whirlwind of fun and excitement, and so I encourage you to play along with us, using the official tag #Restyle2014. We will be releasing the prompt list soon so you can get your outfits together too. I'd love to introduce you to the other official bloggers for Restyle 2014. Go on over and follow their blogs and social media platforms to support. You're about to witness one of the biggest photo-a-day fashion challenges of the year!

It was so much fun to meet all the girls a few weeks back. However, it was a 7am start at the studio, and the only bubbly person when we got there was Anna! But we all livened up during hair and makeup and had a few laughs, and then had many, many photos taken! Such a fun day. I want to say a huge thanks to Renee Glastonbury from TPFF for organising everything and meeting us at the studio so early. And to Claire Mueller for being so lovely and for helping style us.
