SMUDGE

I am loving doing sponged gradient nails at the moment. There is something soft and lovely about them.

These ones I decided to do four sunset colours, and then hand paint a little silhouetted palm tree! I love how it turned out!

First, I painted my nail white, so that the colours I used on top would stay nice and bright. Below are the colours I used, and a picture showing you how your sponge should look!
Have fun!!
Have a beautiful day!

Browsing through my local fabric store, I stumbled across some fabric that caught my eye! It immediately reminded me of a lovely married couple I know. What made it even better though, was there was a girl version and a boy version. So I thought I'd make them His and Hers cushions!!

I wanted to make proper cushions with zips, so I thought I'd quickly share how I made them, for anyone wanting to do the same. They were easier than I thought!

You'll need fabric, thread, a zipper and a cushion insert.

Measure your cushion insert, from one side seam to the opposite side seam. Add 1cm seam allowance for each side. Cut two pieces of fabric out to your measurements. Lay right sides together.
Insert your zip, and stitch above and below it.
With right sides together, pin all the way around the edge, and make sure your zipper is OPEN! (I may or may not have learnt this the hard way.)
Stitch right the way around using your 1cm seam allowance. Clip corners.
Turn inside out and press. Then put your cushion insert inside!
BOOM, FLASH & BAM!

Finished!
Give it ago if you like! There is gorgeous fabric out there that will brighten up any room in your house! And they can be done in 20 minutes!

My wonderful sister-in-law bought me nail vinyls recently and I had so much fun with them!
Firstly, choose a base colour. I tend to go for white as it helps keep any colours you use on top nice and bright. When your base colour is dry, pop on your nail vinyls and sponge any colours you like on top! Peel off the nail vinyls straight away, and let dry. Finish it off with a top coat and you're finished! It's as easy as that.
For those interested, have a peek at the video tutorial below!

The best thing about making your own healthy smoothies, is that you actually know exactly what goes in them. It's not a powder or pill, which I'm not saying that they are always bad, but I've always been a little weary about them. This however, is packed full of good ingredients, and you just pop it all in, whiz it all up together, and BOOM! One completely healthy meal on the go for you!

So, without any further ado, the moment you've all been waiting for, the famous Green Smoothie recipe, has now been revealed!! Feel free to mix up the ingredients if you like and switch it for something similar.

INGREDIENTS
1 x frozen banana
5 or 6 fresh pitted dates
A handful of almonds
A handful of pepita seeds
A sprinkle of chia seeds
Baby spinach, or other leafy greens
Close to a tray of Ice
Water
1 x tablespoon of barley green / wheat grass powder. (Optional. I like to go super green!) Make sure you buy this from a health food store.

Blend it well, and play with the proportions. You will be surprised how delicious it tastes! The banana and the dates are so sweet, that it completely hides the flavours of the things that you may not like as much, and somehow just ends up tasting like a sweet date & banana smoothie!

Let me know how you go!!

Have a beautiful day,

It was a pleasure to attend Lovethreads event on Sunday. What could be more fun than a 1950's inspired garden party?! But more than that, the event was a total success in raising awareness for the Esther Foundation. It was so special to hear about the women involved, and what they do. For more information, visit The Esther Foundation.

I am so proud so Angeline, founder and creator of Lovethread. She is doing amazing things, and has such a huge heart for people. Such a blessing in my life, and those around her.
Happily Yours,
