SMUDGE: July 2012

Time to say hello to my Janome again!

I picked up some soft red fabric, and came up with a simple design for a little comfy dress.

You know what they say.. "red is the new black". Or maybe it's just me. Probably just me.

Either way, I'm excited to get some much loved sewing done! Between new designs and custom orders for clients.. I'm going to be a busy little lady! But a very happy one.

It has been a very busy couple of weeks! It was Joe's birthday a few days ago, so we set off to Melbourne for a week! We spent a few days with my family in central Melbourne, then headed off to Mt Buller for a wintery wonderland, snowboarding adventure! It was incredible. Definitely need to repeat again soon. Joe of course picked it up straight away and was flying down the mountain doing jumps in no time at all, putting me to shame!

I have so much fun with this man, I am so blessed. He fills my days with colour.

Just before we were about to leave Mt Buller, Joe surprised me with another 'ring riddle' ring! He had it wrapped up and buried it under where he'd written 'I LOVE YOU' in the snow. I'm pretty much ridiculously crazy about this romantic man of mine!!

A little more skilled.. a few sore muscles.. one giant bruise.. many smiles.. and a lot of laughter later.. we left Mt Buller and headed back into the heart of Melbourne to spend the remainder of our time there with my family. As both of my sisters have birthdays in July also, we had lots of cake and celebrations with everyone. I love my family.

There's been lots of progress with the treehouse this week!

As we are in the midst of winter here in Perth, Joe and I really need to make the most of any sunny days. We need to get as much done as we can so that the least amount of damage is done from the constant heavy rains!

We've gotten two of our windows up, which we got a great deal on at a local salvage yard. I cleaned them madly so that the sun could actually shine through them! We also managed to get the tin roof up on the 3 metre high roof and the sundeck on the lower roof is well underway too! Whoever would have thought we'd have a double storey treehouse!?

So the treehouse is going good, and life is going good.
Something else that is good.. is mini jelly beans.
Yesterday, I couldn't stop eating them. They were like mini explosions of sugar happiness in my mouth.

It's a new day and a new month, and I feel a very busy one!

Over the last week, I've been consumed with sewing which I love. The support you've all given me recently has been amazing. Thank you all so much.
